Energy source: Trader weighs on LNG benefit
LNG is the fastest and cheapest way to get energy and this is the best time to ink supply contracts, says trader
KARACHI:
Trader Dr Shahid Rasheed Butt on Thursday said import of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) would provide relief to the masses and industry, which would be regarded as a great achievement of the incumbent government. “LNG is the fastest and cheapest way to get energy and this is the best time to ink supply contracts,” he said. Butt said that Petroleum Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and the private sector were rewriting energy history of Pakistan which was highly commendable. “One terminal is insufficient to cater to our needs, therefore, the government and private sector should immediately start establishing more LNG terminals.” The business leader said a floating terminal was the quickest way to get energy but offshore terminals had an expansion capacity. Shipping companies could also see pros and cons of converting ships to the clean fuel, he added.
