Making demands: Mardan’s schools to shut down after 11am today

As part of All Teachers Coordination Council (ATCC) Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa chapter’s call for a province-wide protest, all public schools in Mardan will remain closed on Thursday after 11am.
The council president added on Thursday (today), teachers will close all schools in Mardan. However, he clarified the shutdown will begin at 11am because examinations are under way and they do not want to disrupt students’ papers.

As part of All Teachers Coordination Council (ATCC) Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa chapter’s call for a province-wide protest, all public schools in Mardan will remain closed on Thursday after 11am.
The council announced the protests last month to press the government to accept its demands for a time-scale promotion formula, elections for official teachers’ bodies and the announcement of job quota for deceased teachers’ sons.
According to ATCC K-P President Malik Khalid Khan, the council’s demands have been presented before K-P Education Minister Atif Khan and senior education department officials, but they have not been fulfilled yet.
