Prime Minister Nawaz departs for Saudi Arabia

Pakistan and Saudi Arabia are brotherly countries which are tied in bonds of shared faith and values, PM says

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif departed  on Wednesday on a three-day visit to Saudi Arabia on the invitation of His Majesty Salman bin Abdulaziz.

Prior to his departure, the premier said that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia are brotherly countries, tied in the bonds of shared faith and values.

He added that every Pakistani has a special place in his heart for the Saudi King as he is the custodian of the two holy mosques, adding that relations between the two countries have grown stronger over the course of time.

This would be Prime Minister Nawaz's first visit to the Kingdom since King Salman assumed the throne last month.

During the visit, the premier will be meeting members of the Pakistani community in Saudi Arabia and will also be performing Umra.

The prime minister will be accompanied by a high-level delegation including Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on National Affairs Irfan Siddiqui and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs, Syed Tariq Fatemi.
