KARACHI:
The Sindh government early on Wednesday, fired Chief Secretary Sindh Sajjad Saleem Hotiana, and returned him to the federal government, Express News reported.

In this stead, Subhan Memon, who heads the Chief Minister's Inspection, Enquiries and Implementation Team, has been handed temporary charge as the chief secretary.

Hotiana was removed following the provincial government's explicit request to the federal government after he allegedly undertook actions contrary to the rules.

The provincial govt and the bureaucracy have not been on the same page, as recent posting of Abdul Kabir Kazi has been controversial. Many departments in Sindh still do not have any secretaries assigned.
