Flooded: Three houses damaged in dyke breach
“No official has come to help us,” Saddam Hussain
MULTAN:
Three houses were inundated and eight acres of agricultural land submerged after a dyke on Rawan Wala Canal breached in 11/L village in Chichawatni late on Friday.
The breach had opened up to 20 feet until Saturday evening.
The villagers protested against the Irrigation Department accusing it of negligence and apathy.
“No official has come to help us,” Saddam Hussain, one of the protesters, told The Express Tribune.
An official from the department said they were doing their best to repair the breach at the earliest. He said two of the three damaged houses had been built illegally.
