Saravia, during a meeting held with Minister of State for Information Technology Anusha Rahman in Islamabad, said the sector has become lucrative market for foreign investors, Radio Pakistan reported.
Matters of mutual interest, promotion of bilateral relations and cooperation in IT and telecom sectors were discussed during the meeting.
The minister apprised the ambassador regarding different initiatives being taken by her ministry to facilitate foreign investors.

She said our successful venture of 3G/4G auction boosted the confidence of the foreign investors and now we have decided to go for the second round of the auction of leftover spectrum of 20 MHz’s.

The National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Information Technology tasked the sub-committee to complete its review of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Bill of Pakistan 2015 within two weeks.
A draft of the bill was presented before the Standing Committee for approval as it met under the chairmanship of Captain (Retd) Muhammad Safdar.
The bill proposed harsh penalties for violators while imposing restrictions on freedom of expression and giving security agencies wide powers of digital surveillance.
