A soldier of Frontier Corps (FC) was killed in a landmine explosion in the Soranj area near a coalfield on the outskirts of Quetta on Tuesday. According to an FC spokesperson, the security personnel were engaged in minesweeping when one of them stepped upon a landmine, triggering an explosion. As a result, the soldier received multiple wounds and succumbed to his injuries before being taken to hospital for treatment. The soldier was identified as Mohammed Khan. More troops reached the site and cordoned off the area.
