ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Police are waiting for the findings of a post-mortem and forensic samples before proceeding further in the investigation into the sudden death of Reuters Afghanistan-Pakistan Bureau Chief Maria Golovnina. Police official Abdul Sattar said her husband has not named anyone as a suspect and the police have thus far not found any clues indicating murder. “The post-mortem will confirm or rule out [poisoning],” he said. Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto (SZAB) Medical University Vice-Chancellor Professor Javed Akram said a post-mortem had been carried out but it was too early to tell the actual cause of death. He said fluid and tissue samples have been taken and sent to Punjab Forensic Science Agency (PFSA) for examination.
