KARACHI: Iran’s Majid, Yameen and Jalil Hassan Zaib scored three runs each to guide Iran to a 15-0 victory over India in the 12th West Asia Baseball Cup at the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) Complex, Islamabad on Tuesday.

Neema contributed two runs, while Abdullah and Asghar scored one run each to guide Iran to their first win of the tournament.

Indian players tried their best to score some runs, but Iran’s Rajab executed some great pitching that prevented India from scoring.

“Rajab pitched fantastic deliveries at a good pace, which gave our batsmen,” said Zaib, adding that playing in Pakistan has been a good experience so far. “The environment is safe and secure for the players,” he added.

On Wednesday, India will face Iraq in the third match of the championship.
