AJK Strategy: Plan designed to revive sick units
AJK government has decided that commercial plots in industrial estates will be allotted only through auction
MIRPUR:
The Azad Jammu and Kashmir government has evolved an effective strategy for the revival of several sick industrial units located in the districts of Mirpur and Bhimbher to make them production-oriented entities. A plan in this regard was approved in a recent meeting attended among others by senior officials of the state industry departments and representatives of the local business fraternity. Under the plan, the government would extend all possible facilities to investors and industrial sectors as required infrastructure is available in the region. The authorities have decided to initiate stringent action against those owners of industrial concerns who fail to construct their units within the stipulated time as enshrined in existing rules and regulations. Additionally, the AJK government has decided that commercial plots in industrial estates will be allotted only through auction so that the aspirants could participate through a fair bidding process.
