A rickshaw driver allegedly killed his wife, 28-year-old Shumaila, over a domestic dispute in Chishtia Colony on Sunday.
According to Pinyari police, Iqbal Kabari, asked his wife to hand a gold jewellery set over to him but Shumaila, a mother of four children, refused, arguing that he would sell it in order to buy liquor. Enraged, Kabari allegedly beat her to death.
The family told the police that the suspect, who has been arrested, often beat his wife. No FIR has been registered as yet.
