The two-day long national debate on the role of media concluded at Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan (AWKUM) on Sunday.
The event was attended by numerous renowned journalists, analysts, media experts and academicians, including Rahimullah Yousafzai, Ayaz Khan, Khurshid Nadeem, Farrukh Sohail Goindi, Rehmat Shah Afridi and Saima Batool, who discussed the issues and challenges faced by Pakistani media today.
The first session, moderated by Shiraz Paracha, constituted of a discussion on online journalism and the role of new media in Pakistan.
The second session, hosted by Ayaz Khan from the Express Media Group, touched upon the problems faced by journalists and media houses. The third was an interactive session about the role of columnists in shaping public opinion.
The seminar culminated with the address of AWKUM Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Ihsan Ali who expressed gratitude towards the attendees and guests.
