MUMBAI: Actor  Anushka Sharma, who is currently busy promoting her film NH 10, credits PK and Bombay Velvet for igniting passion for cinema in her.

“Films affect you on a personal level because this is the life you lead — 95 per cent of my life is about my work.

“Playing different roles also affects you and credit goes to PK and Bombay Velvet. The kind of passion they developed inside me for cinema is great,” Anushka told reporters in a group interview.

In the film NH10, Anushka will be seen fighting for her survival along with her husband, played by Neil Bhoopalam, after their road trip turns out to be a complete nightmare.

The actor says portraying the role with conviction was physically challenging for her.

“It was physically very challenging so I started training myself accordingly. We also did workshops to build the chemistry between the characters,” said Anushka, who has also turned producer with the film.

Directed by Navdeep Singh, NH 10 is a story of couple that goes on a road trip, which gets transformed into a complete nightmare, making it a fight for survival.

Anushka is in awe of her co-star Neil and feels fortunate that she could work with Bhoopalam in her production debut NH 10.  She feels his talent has influenced her performance.

“Neil is one of the best actors that our country has today. I feel really fortunate that I could work with him because when you work with good actors, it has an effect on your own performance,” Anushka said here Tuesday during the film’s promotion at a college.

“I have had a great time. He is like a buddy and I feel like I have known him for years,” she added.

Neil has been part of films such as No One Killed Jessica, Shaitan and David. He was especially appreciated for his role as a politician in the TV series 24.

Directed by Navdeep Singh and co-produced by Eros International and Phantom Films, the film is slated to release March 6.

At another promotional event for NH 10, the actor expressed her wish of being part of TV show on the set of crime-based show Savdhaan India. When asked if about her plans to make an entry into small screen, she responded,” No, actually I haven’t thought about it. But, I’ll always be open for every kind of creative opportunity that might come my way. So, in the near future, if a show that has a good story comes my way, I would be open for sure.”
