A civic hackathon, the first for the federal capital, is drawing a range of residents to the weekend-long event that started the other day at a local university, said a press release. The event, organised by Code for Pakistan in partnership with the Organisation of Pakistani Entrepreneurs and Professionals and LINE Pakistan, aims to crowd source solutions to civic issues.
Hackathons are a growing global phenomenon that focuses on engaging people with knowledge of technology to help improve governance. During the event, various teams will brainstorm civic problems and come up with web, mobile, and SMS solutions to them. The event will conclude today.
