Press Release February 20, 2015

KARACHI: The Sindh government issued a notification on Friday regarding the compensation cheques being dishonoured by Sindh Bank, Shikarpur. It had been reported that when the families of the Shikarpur victims went to clear the cheques they were given by Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah, they were told that the provincial government’s account did not have enough funds. According to the press statement, this information is incorrect as sufficient funds are available in the account of the Government of Sindh maintained with Sindh Bank and beneficiaries may collect their cheques through their bankers.

Danish | 9 years ago | Reply Ha ha as usual government compensation cheques bounce in Pakistan. They are only handed out for the PR benefits when media scrutiny is highest right after an attack. By the time these cheques bounce the media has moved on to the next attack and gives little attention to stories of bounced cheques.
