Vehicle tax: Crackdown against defaulters continues

Excise and Taxation Department’s crackdown against vehicles without computerised number plates and token tax defaulters continued on Thursday. The department had started the campaign on February 2. The department spokesman said its teams had set up pickets on Thursday at Empress Road near Ali Complex, Faisal Town Road, Multan Road near Saggian, Walton, Lalik Chowk and Riwaz Garden. Around 150 vehicles were impounded and documents of 2,500 more were confiscated. Excise and Taxation Officer Azam said that people should pay the token tax for their vehicles. He said the campaign would continue till February 28.
