Quaid-e-Azam Trophy Grade II: Larkana 252-6 against DMJ as Abid scores ton

Second-round match starts a day late due to rain.

KARACHI:
A timely century by Abid Ali enabled Dera Murad Jamali (DMJ) to reach 252-6 against Larkana on the second day of Quaid-e-Azam Trophy Grade II’s second round at the Pindi Stadium on Wednesday.

The match started a day later than scheduled due to rain, and the second day ended with Abid on 102 — with the help of 10 boundaries — and Taimoor Ali on 66 off 65 balls.

Additionally, Nasir Khan scored 46 as Farid Baqi smashed two fours and a six to score 30 runs to help DMJ finish at 252-6 in 66 overs, while Imtiaz Ali and Imran Chandio took one wicket each, giving away 91 and 54 runs respectively.

In the other match at the Diamond Club Cricket Ground in Islamabad, Fata resumed their first innings on 113-3, posting 301 runs in 83 overs against Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) as Samar Gul and Haroon Sadaqat scored 86 runs each.


Almar Afridi and Sohrab Khan also added 38 and 35 runs respectively, while Arsalan Arif picked up four wickets with Irfan Talib taking two.

At the end of play, AJK were at 49 without the loss of a wicket in 16.4 overs with Irfan Talib on 32 and Adil Mirza on 13. Thursday will be the last day for both matches, while in the first round, Fata won against Larkana by five wickets and AJK defeated DMJ by one wicket.
