LAHORE:
The National College of Arts (NCA) has introduced several short courses for art lovers, Principal Murtaza Jafri said on Tuesday. He was talking to a delegation of Education Reporters’ Association (ERA) that visited the annual theses show. “We are building a place where special sittings can be arranged with intellectuals, writers, scholars and journalists,” Jafri said. He said the Architecture Department had designed a display centre to display the work of young artists. “Anybody who buys an art piece from the centre will get it stamped by the NCA to authenticate its originality.” The principal said the college was playing its role in preservation of traditional art forms like miniature. “Students from the Miniature Department are mixing contemporary themes with traditional styles,” he said. Rao Dilshad Ali, the NCA Archives in charge, was also present.
