‘Connected’ criminals: Police ban touts from entering stations
This was revealed in a report prepared by Operations AIG Sultan Azam Temuri.
ISLAMABAD:
Police high-ups have directed their subordinates to ban the entry of a number of ‘connected’ persons in police stations, based on a report that suggests they are working as ‘police touts’. This was revealed in a report prepared by Operations AIG Sultan Azam Temuri. The report has been sent to the Islamabad IG, SSP, all zonal police officers, and SDPOs. The report named 59 persons as touts, including police officials, politicians and their relatives. In the report, Temuri writes that sources revealed that touts allegedly take money from people and give a share to police officers. While barring their entry into police stations, the report threatens strict departmental action against SHOs and other officials in case of any complaint. Police officials have also been directed to keep an eye on the touts named in the report.
