Social development: Japan to provide Rs36 million
Ameer Begum Welfare Trust will utilise its grant of $82,282 for installation of six water purification plants in rural areas of Okara district. The areas have a high prevalence of water-borne disease due to the unavailability of safe drinking water.
The grant of $78,833 to Al-Mujtaba Development Network will be used for the improvement of the water supply and sanitation system in a remote part of Muzaffarabad in Azad Jammu and Kashmir. Community Development and Anti-TB Programme will get $98,138 to build a village road in Narowal district.
Obaid Noor Welfare Association will get a grant of $101,697 to construct a maternity and emergency hospital in Mianwali. Ambassador of Japan Hiroshi Inomata and heads of the NGOs signed the agreement on Monday.
