India’s love affair with cricket and cinema has always been well-documented. So, whenever legends from both professions come together it is always bound to evoke of interest. Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan and former Pakistani fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar came together as commentators for the Pakistan versus India ICC 2015 cricket world cup match on Sunday.

Big B did commentary as part of a promotional effort by the makers of his latest film Shamitabh, which released on February 6.

“Commentating for the India versus Pakistan World Cup 2015 at the Star Studios...an honour one can only imagine and hope for... the cricketing legends the likes of Kapil Dev, Rahul Dravid, Shoaib Akhtar by your side,” said Amitabh Bachchan, reported IANS.

“Their keen interest in making sure I get it all proper and right... seasoned Arun Lal and other commentators lending a helping hand... and then sitting back after a while to see India victorious in a most decisive win... what a Sunday,” added the Bollywood legend.

A video uploaded on the Star Sports Facebook page showed that it wasn’t all serious inside the studios as, during his brief stint with the commentary team, Bachchan was asked by Shoaib Akhtar if he has ever faced fast bowling to which he laughingly replied, “Yes, I have seen it and played it many times. It keeps on striking your body. There is so little reaction time when playing fast bowlers that you are confused whether to play the ball or leave it. So, the batsman should be praised for playing such fast bowling.”
