Transitions: Poet Qazi Maqsood Gul passes away

The body was taken to his hometown in Ratodero for burial at Mubarak Shah graveyard.

RATODERO: Sindhi literary figure, poet, story writer, researcher and intellectual Qazi Maqsood Gul, son of Qazi Abdul Hayee Qail, passed away late Saturday night at a private hospital in Karachi. He was 65 years old at the time of his death. The body was taken to his hometown in Ratodero for burial at Mubarak Shah graveyard. He wrote over four books, including Rat Bhinal Rabail [Flower Wet with Blood], and translated many books of other languages into Sindhi. His translated works include the famous book of Urdu writer, Krishan Chandar, Zindagi De Moat [Return to Life]. He also translated Shaikh Ayaz’s poetry into Urdu. He was the younger brother of artist Qazi Khizar Hayat. He was inspired by late poet Abdul Karim Gadaee and Prof Atta Muhammad Hamee.
