Extortion threats: Three killed in firing in Charsadda
Police have arrested a suspect, Malang, and an FIR has been registered against him.
SHABQADAR:
Three people were killed when unidentified gunmen opened fire at them in Kotak area of Shabqadar on Saturday.
According to an official of Battagram police, Haji Fazal Wahid, a resident of Peshawar, was on his way back from a relative’s funeral in Kotak along with his cousins Fazal Ahad and Asia Bibi when the incident occurred.
As a result of the indiscriminate firing, all three of them died on the spot while two children passing by were injured when their car swerved out of control and plowed into the minors.
Local sources said Wahid had a steel business in Bakhshi Pul area of the provincial capital and was continually receiving extortion threats from unidentified persons, because of which he had
to leave the country for some time.
Police have arrested a suspect, Malang, and an FIR has been registered against him and his sons Noorullah and Sanaullah, who are also suspected of being involved in the attack, added the official.
Further investigation into the incident is under way.
