Railway station: Modern waiting room inaugurated

Pakistan Railways (PR) Operations General Manager Javed Anwar Boobak inaugurated a state-of-the-art waiting hall at the Lahore Railway Station on Thursday for passengers travelling to India. Boobak said that PR had financed the projects from its own resources. He also inaugurated separate waiting rooms for men and women and a water filtration plant to enable the provision of potable water at platform 2 earlier. Boobak said that Rs0.6 million had been spent on the hall and the rooms. He said that the water filtration plant had been donated. He said the condition of Pakistan Railways had been taking a turn for the better with each passing day. He said that the administration of the department had been striving to increase facilities being offered to passengers. Boobak said that Pakistan Railways had requested the federal government to allocate funds for the formulation of a feasibility report regarding the upgrade of the Lahore-Narowal-Sialkot-Wazirabad sector. He said that this would enable the department to generate more revenue.
