Military courts: Black Day observed

They wore black armbands to the courts and raised black flags at the bar premises

LAHORE:
Lawyers in the city observed Black Day on Thursday to protest the establishment of military courts following the 21st amendment to the Constitution. They wore black armbands to the courts and raised black flags at the bar premises. The Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) had earlier decided that a black day would be observed every Thursday until the withdrawal of the law allowing establishment of military courts to try people held in terrorism cases. The decision came after the National Coordination Committee of the various bar associations of the country decided against a full-scale boycott of courts and instead called for the observance of a black day every week.
