The Punjab education department has decided in principal to regularise all contractual college teachers.
A source said that the notification will be issued in two days. Teachers have welcomed the announcement.
Meanwhile, teachers associations have decided to stage protests across Punjab against the education department’s decision to do away with higher secondary schools.
They said the end of higher secondary schools will deprive more than 1,1050 teachers of promotions.
