‘Love Altaf rally’: Present supporters of terrorists before military courts, demands MQM
Altaf did not say anything about PTI women that was not reported in the media: Rauf Siddiqui
KARACHI:
Terrorists and their supporters should be presented before the military courts, said Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) rabita committee joint in-charge Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui on Tuesday.
He was speaking at the ‘Love Altaf rally’, organised to express solidarity with party chief Altaf Hussain. “No campaign or movement can separate MQM from Altaf Hussain,” he said.
A large number of MQM workers and supporters took part in the ‘Love Altaf rally’. Participants riding motorcycles and buses gathered at Aisha Manzil, passed through the major thoroughfares of the city and reached Sharae Quaideen before sunset. Female workers wore bandanas inscribed with ‘I am Altaf’ while men held party flags.
In his address to the participants at Sharae Quaideen, MQM leader Rauf Siddiqui said that the MQM chief did not say anything about the female workers of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) that had not been reported in the media. He said that if any suicide blast takes place in the country, the MQM will file an FIR against Imran Khan and Sirajul Haq, claiming that the two were supporters of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan.
Standing on a truck that wore a huge banner saying ‘We love you Altaf bhai’, MQM lawmaker Faisal Subzwari spoke next. “We condemn your allegations Mr Taliban Khan and challenge you to prove anything in any court.”
He said that the MQM workers had not assembled because of ‘anyone’s script or directions’ but had come out of their houses for the love of their leader. “You speak of justice,” he said, addressing the PTI chief. “But you failed to provide justice to the girl associated with your name.”
Subzwari said the news clipping of December 1996 is proof that Khan came to Nine Zero and admitted that Altaf is ‘a revolutionary leader’.
Subzwari said that Khan wants to come to Karachi but never speaks for the rights of Karachiites. “Your party didn’t speak up when local government election was wrapped up,” he said. “Did you pay a single visit to the Baldia factory and meet the victims?”
MQM leader Dr Farooq Sattar said that this rally was an answer to PTI’s uncivilised statements. He said that if Khan is coming to Karachi, the MQM challenges him to compare his character with that of Hussain’s.
“Taliban ran Imran Khan’s election campaign and kept MQM, [Awami National Party] ANP, and [Pakistan Peoples Party] PPP away from their campaigns.” He censured Khan for his failure at his repeated attempts to lodge complaints against Hussain in London.
