Action urged: ‘Eradicating terrorism govt’s responsibility’

Idrees said peace would remain elusive till the ‘murderers of humanity’ were brought to book.

LAHORE:

Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) deputy chief Hafiz Muhammad Idrees said on Sunday that eradicating terrorism was the foremost responsibility of the government.

He was speaking at a central workshop of the party in Mansoora. Idrees said killing innocent people was proscribed in Islam. He said the lives of non-Muslims were protected in Islam.

Idrees said the Baldia carnage was the handiwork of an extortion mafia. He said this had been disclosed by someone involved in the fire. Idrees said it was yet to be seen how the rulers dealt with ‘the terrorist group’ that had perpetrated the carnage.

Idrees said peace would remain elusive till the ‘murderers of humanity’ were brought to book.

He said that punishing the innocent and acquitting criminals was the worst form of ‘enmity against humanity.’
