In Custody: Police arrest TTP member
He was arrested from Mashogagar area of Badhaber and a hand grenade was found on him.
PESHAWAR:
Police claim to have arrested a member of banned militant outfit Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) from the outskirts of the provincial capital after a shoot-out late Friday night. According to the police, the alleged militant was wanted in a number of cases. He was arrested from Mashogagar area of Badhaber and a hand grenade was found on him. “This is an important arrest because the man is an active member of TTP and has been involved in several sabotage activities,” said an official of Badhaber police station. He added that to avoid capture, the militant shot at the police but was ultimately apprehended. Refusing to reveal the suspect’s name, the policeman said he is being interrogated and further arrests are expected based on the information he reveals.
