The provincial government has decided to send students injured in the APS massacre to Aga Khan Hospital in Karachi for treatment.
According to officials at the Chief Minister House, parents had been concerned about their children’s medical treatment because when they were discharged from Combined Military Hospital doctors told them the children will recover within a few months. However, when parents approached other doctors, they were told recovery would take longer.
An insider said parents had also been protesting against the government for not taking concrete measures to ensure the injured students’ speedy recovery. This led the CM to issue directions for sending them to well-equipped hospitals. Information Secretary Abid Majeed said a board has been formulated at the Directorate of Health to refer cases to Aga Khan.
