Police claim miscreants wanted to target the van driver
CHARSADDA:
A girl was injured on Friday morning when unidentified assailants opened fired at a school van in Charsadda district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P), Express News reported.
The young victim - who was in critical condition - was shifted to District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ) Charsadda right after the attack.
Sources confirmed that the van was carrying at least 12 students at the time of the incident.
According to the initial report, police said the miscreants wanted to target the van driver.
“Investigation is underway and a search operation is being conducted in the area to arrest the culprits,” a police official confirmed.
Just two days ago, a bomb disposal squad had defused explosives planted outside a government school in Bannu district of K-P.
Police were informed about the explosives planted outside Badshah Khan Government Primary School early morning, after which rescue personnel were dispatched to the area immediately.
