Depressed: Prison inmate attempts suicide

The motivation behind his suicide attempt has yet to be ascertained.

HYDERABAD:
A murder convict attempted to kill himself by slitting his throat with a shaving blade in Central Prison, Hyderabad, on Thursday. However, timely medical help saved his life. The 40-year-old prisoner was convicted in July 2011 in a murder case in Jamshoro. He was sentenced to life imprisonment. The jail superintendent said that shaving razors were allowed for prisoners. The inmate met a relative who had come to visit on Tuesday after which he was visibly depressed. The motivation behind his suicide attempt has yet to be ascertained.
