Cyber crimes: Panel formed to finalise draft bill

ISLAMABAD:
A parliamentary panel has formed a four-member subcommittee to review, amend and finalise draft of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Bill of Pakistan 2015 within two weeks. The draft bill was presented before the National Assembly Standing Committee on IT for approval which met with Captain (retd) Muhammad Safdar in the chair on Wednesday. The bill proposes harsh penalties for the violators of restrictions on freedom of expression by using different digital equipment.
