ANP urges parties to support military courts
District president Arshad Abdullah says ANP most affected by alleged election rigging.
CHARSADDA:
Establishment of military courts is the only way to eliminate terrorism from the country and all political parties should support them, said ANP Charsadda President Barrister Arshad Abdullah on Wednesday.
Addressing journalists at Charsadda Press Club, Abdullah said ANP was the most affected by rigging in the 2013 general elections. The district president claimed around 5,000 bogus votes were used against him by his opponents who were aided by “invisible forces.”
According to Abdullah, while his party remains silent over the injustice it suffered in the polls, PTI chief Imran Khan continues to protest against alleged rigging. “All political forces should unite against militancy,” he said.
Abdullah also condemned the publication of offensive caricatures by French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo and asked the government to refrain from staying silent on the matter and record its protest on an international level. He also urged the government to convene a conference of Organisation of Islamic Cooperation on the matter.
Other leaders of the party highlighted various problems people of the district were facing and appealed to the provincial government to address the issues.
