Mending ways: Amir plays friendly match with Shaukut Khanum patients
Amir says he is focusing on his fitness and is training to keep himself in shape
LAHORE:
Fast-paced bowler Mohammad Amir paid a visit to the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital in Lahore to encourage fundraising.
The cricketer, who is set to return to domestic cricket next month with a Grade-II team in Karachi, exchanged greetings with children admitted in the hospital and played a friendly cricket match with children who are admitted in the hospital.
Amir also broke bread with the children, and motivated people to donate more to the fundraiser being held at the hospital.
Speaking about his fitness, the cricketer said, “I am focusing on my fitness and I am training to keep myself in shape.”
“When a sportsman is mentally relaxed, one can play better,” he added.
"The Pakistan team has lost its morale due to a series 2-0 defeat against New Zealand," Amir said, referring to a recent two-match ODI series.
"There is a lot of pressure while we are playing against India," he said.
