An army official was shot dead while resisting a robbery at a supermarket within the Civil Lines police limits on Tuesday.
Police said that three armed robbers broke into Awan Super Store and held the staff and customers’ hostage. While the robbers were looting cash and valuables, Ashraf overpowered one of them.
The two other robbers opened fire at Ashraf and fled, leaving him with a bullet wound in the chest. Ashraf was taken to hospital, but was declared dead on arrival. The police registered a case.
