FAISALABAD:

A man has been arrested by Bhowana police for allegedly beating to death his six-month-old child following an argument with his wife.

Bhowana station house officer said that Akbar Ali, a resident of Booti Wala village, is accused of killing his son, Usman Ali, in front of his sister-in-law’s house in Naushera Jappa village of Chiniot.

The FIR registered on the complaint of Ambreen Bibi, mother of the deceased child, states that Ali had come over to settle differences with her and persuade her to return with him. “Ali snatched the child and left the house on her refusal to return with him,” the FIR adds. On leaving the house, it says, he started hitting the child and fled only after residents started gathering on the spot on hearing the child’s cries.

The child died before he could be taken to a hospital for first aid.

Ambreen Bibi had left Ali following an argument and moved over to her sister’s place for sometime.
