Imran Khan demands voting rights for overseas Pakistanis
The PTI chief also asks CEC to introduce biometric system and minimise the possibility of rigging in future

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan on Monday said overseas Pakistanis should be given the right to vote in next general elections, Express News reported.
Imran met Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Justice (retd) Sardar Raza to share his grievances related to the May 2013 elections.

The PTI chief also asked the electoral body to introduce biometric system and minimise the possibility of rigging in the future.
Speaking about the results of NA-122, the PTI chief said forensic tests were conducted and the signatures of the returning officers were different than their original ones which clearly reflected that rigging had taken place in the constituency.
“One presiding officer had also signed forms of 20 polling stations,” he added.
Imran further told the media that he has asked the CEC to make sure that there are day-to-day hearings of the NA-122 case and that they are not adjourned in any case.
"The CEC should suspend the National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq if there is any delay in the hearing," Imran requested.
Imran also said the results of re-counting in NA-122 constituency would be announced later in February and if his rigging claims are proven wrong, he will accept his mistake before the nation.
"Independent election commission is our next goal for which the PTI would continue its struggle," the PTI chief added.
When asked about PTI’s future strategy in case a judicial commission is not constituted to probe his rigging claims, Imran said that we would come out on the streets again to protest.
Imran once again justified his party’s decision to participate in Senate elections from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa saying it was a legitimate assembly and no one had raised rigging allegations against it.
