Three days after stepping down from the post of Punjab governor, Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar said that he is hoping to chart out his future political course with the help of overseas Pakistanis and his friends in the United Kingdom.
“I will speak to my friends and supporters in London, Glasgow and elsewhere about my future plans. I will then come back and have discussions with people and make a final decision,” Sarwar told The Express Tribune, before leaving for Britain Sunday night.
He also hinted that he would probably not join any other political grouping in haste on account of his experience with the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
“I may not join another party abruptly to face again what happened to me as a governor,” he said.
He said he is keen to serve the people of Pakistan and will continue to do so even if he is not in any political party. “I have shifted to Pakistan to serve my people and I will do so till my last breath,” he said. “I am not going on a one-way ticket and will return to Pakistan after eight days.”
To a question about joining Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Sarwar said, his politics is on issues and policies. “I want to work on education policy, agriculture policy, health policy, foreign policy and so on. If I am not on the same-page with the people within a party, there is no use joining the party,” he said.
Sarwar repeated that local government elections were very important for democracy.
“If local representatives are in place, they will resolve problems of people at the grass-root level and serve them better. I will campaign for them as I have been campaigning for them in the past. I strongly believe local government elections should take place at the earliest,” he added.

Respected Sir We need you country needs you .I know your life is full of ambitions which you have achieved. Your only presence in Pakistan motivate us to the highest level. God Bless u and Pakistan.
Yes sir am agree with u that pakistan has been dragged into crises and earned a bad name for it in the world. But am asking u a question. Didnt u know that u were not eligible for the post given to u in the constitution of this state ? That time u were nt aware of the troubles and challenges og these people ? Come on man u cant do that. U are following all the culprits of this country. But unfortunately our people give protocole to liers and apprecite lies. As for most of them u are turning to be a hero. U came here on ur own demand by paying dollars to the sharifs of this country. And now leaving. Nothing else than this ol. Allah will decide inshAllah.
* A Suggestion to Mr. Sarwar;* I took part in Pakistan politics at gross root level i.e, first local government's elections in Musharaf era, but could not survive for more than one & half year. Now you have left the politics; serve the nation through institutionalized services in education, health, foreign services, agriculture and other services. You will find many professionals aspiring to get honest livelihood (bread & better) for their children; they will join you in this effort. There is abundant human capital available in Pakistan, the resources will automatically be generated if properly channelized into an institutionalized sincere effort. I suppose you have the initial financial capital by choosing one sector and then moving on to others; you will definitely achieve your noble objectives in coming few years. There are lot of examples in our country and around he globe that a single person has contributed towards changing the face of the mother earth without going into politics. For example; Hamdard Foundation; Edhi Centres; Shaukat Khanum Hosptal, AKDN and Bilgate Foundation ETC; do not waste your energies, sincerity, resources and vision in dirty politics likes Imran Khan, Ibrar-ul-Haq, Shezad Roy etc.
Bilgate Foundaton has eradicated polio from the face of the earth except few country without entering into politics. Believe you me I regret the day I joined ZA Butto as Jiyala some 45/50 years back it was just waste of time and vision; don't destroy your vision and money in promoting image of dirty politicians without exception.
ET: I hope my humble submission will reach him through your good offices ( an orthodox language for ex-British citizen).
A Peshawary.
