Milestone achieved: Isra University confers degrees on 532 graduates
Varsity held its 12th annual convocation on Saturday.

The Isra University conferred academic degrees on 532 graduates at its 12th annual convocation on Saturday. A total of 189 students received their Bachelor’s degrees in medical, nursing, ophthalmology and physical therapy, while another 55 students were awarded postgraduate degrees in the medicine and allied sciences.
In the subjects of business administration, electrical engineering, computer sciences, electronics, information technology, software engineering and telecommunications, 122 Bachelor’s as well as 39 Master’s degrees were awarded.
Three scholars received PhD degrees in medicine and management sciences and eight other MPhil scholars in computer and management sciences. An honorary PhD degree was also given to Prof Dr Yousuf Ahmed Al Darweish of the International Islamic University, Islamabad.
Four gold and 10 silver medals were also awarded to the students. The gold medal recipients included Ihsanullah, Aisha Naseem Rajput, Pirah Akbar Nizamani and Aisha Mehmood Memon.
Chancellor Dr Asadullah Qazi reminded the students of their obligation as educated citizens and urged them to uphold the image of Pakistan and work with commitment in their respective professions. The vice-chancellor, Dr Ghulam Qadir Qazi, quoted a verse from the Holy Quran, which says ‘knowledge inculcates a sense of responsibility in a person.’
