ISLAMABAD:

The Capital Development Authority has decided to repair the dilapidated IJ Principal Road, which has been damaged during the Metro Bus Project work.

At a meeting held at the CDA headquarters, which was attended by CDA Chairman Maroof Afzal, Rawalpindi Chief Commissioner Zahid Saeed and other officials, it was decided that the IJP Road will be reconstructed to facilitate motorists and solve the traffic congestions that have become a daily occurrence.

It was also decided that light emitting diodes (LEDs) lights would be installed on the road instead of electric bulbs. The CDA also decided to repair other roads, which have been affected by the Metro Bus Project and all the funds would be made available from that project, said a CDA press release issued here on Saturday.

The CDA chairman was apprised that maintenance work on roads in Sector G-9 has already been started, while the repair work on other major roads will kick off soon. The CDA chairman directed the officials to immediately start repair work on 9th Avenue, Nazimuduin Road, Luqman Hakim Road and other major roads of Islamabad affected by the Metro Project.
