Five health workers fired
Twenty other health workers issued notifications by the Health Department.

Dera Ghazi Khan district health authorities on Saturday terminated the services of five health workers and issued show cause notices to 20 more over negligence, absenteeism and dereliction of duty. Talking to newsmen, Health EDO Munawar Abbas said the government wanted to achieve targets set for the Extended Programme of Immunisation.
He said performance of health workers was key to the success of immunisation campaigns. He said it was unfortunate that some workers were not performing according to expectations and this had affected adversely affected the drives. He said despite being warned several times, Dr Wajid Ali and vaccinators Danish Abbas, Zaffir Mukhtar, Muhammad Nasrullah and Muhammad Adnan had not improved their attendance or performance. He said 20 other health workers had been issued notices and explanations had been sought from them.
