ISLAMABAD:

Consumers have urged the authorities to take action against the illegal use of compressors, which is causing low gas pressure in many areas.

Consumers on Thursday complained that businesses in various areas were involved in the illegal use of compressors, depriving many domestic users of their share of gas.

Muhammad Adeel, a Satellite Town resident, said some people were also using compressors in their homes. “It is not only illegal and dangerous, but it also creates problems for their neighbors,” he said.

“We have been deprived of gas for weeks because
some houses in our surroundings are using compressors,” said Tahir Khan, a resident of Muslim Town, Sadiqabad.

SNGPL said the use of compressors was illegal. He said the authority will take action against the violators. He said SNGPL had taken action against many consumers using compressors.

He said consumers could lodge complaints against the illegal use of compressors at SNGPL customer service centre round the clock.
