Michael Fassbender to play Steve Jobs in new movie
The movie faced several obstacles before going into production
We’ve been given the iPod, the iPhone and the iPad and now it’s time for the iMovie, US Weekly reported.
The cast for the upcoming Steve Jobs biopic is finally in place after several months of drama and recasting.
Universal Pictures on January 27 announced that it had found all the stars for the film which is based on Apple’s cofounder- Steve Jobs. His role has been sought after by many but was finally filled by Michael Fassbender.
The tech genius and innovator died at the age of 56 in 2011 and was originally to be played by Leonardo DiCaprio in an iteration, however, this idea was short-lived as DiCaprio soon backed out.
Despite being termed as “the best actor” for the job last October, Bale also followed in DiCaprio’s footsteps and pulled out of the film.
Jobs’ role is soon to be played by Fassbender, 37, who is also working alongside this role in Macbeth, X-Men: Apocalypse and The Light Between Oceans.
Seth Roger will be playing Apple revolutionary Steve Wozniak alongside Fassbender, Jeff Daniels, Kate Winslet, Katherine Waterston, Michael Stuhlbarg and others who make up the entire cast list for the movie which is set to hit theaters in 2016.
The movie, which has started filming in California, and an adaptation of Walter Isaacson’s biography of Steve Jobs faced many obstacles in getting the production rolling.
In addition to the director and lead actor swap, the project was originally in development from Sony and moved over to Universal just as details about the complicated process began to leak in the widespread hack of Sony Pictures Entertainment.
