Over 10 years after their song 'Hai Koi Hum Jaisa' became the battle cry for fans going into the 2003 cricket World Cup, Strings have returned with a new anthem for the 2015 edition of the cup with “Phir se Game Utha Dain".
Faisal Kapadia and Bilal Maqsood, who took over reins as producers of Coke Studio last year, brought together artists who they worked with during the seventh season to make a two minute and 40 second long song.
The uplifting track is a Coke Studio rendition of "Who Rule the World" by Kasey Carlone and Matt Slogett which was used as the theme song of the 1992 World Cup in Australia which Pakistan had won. With Pakistan heading back to Australia and New Zealand to challenge for the ultimate crown in cricket, this rendition refreshes and finally localises that iconic world cup anthem.
The song starts off with Atif Aslam singing the opening sequence of the song.
The video (by Asadul Haq) and its song features Jimmy Big Ears, Amina Shaikh, Adnan Malik, Asrar, actor Adnan Siddiqui, Bilal Maqsood and Faisal Kapadia
It also features a cameo appearance by 1992 world cup winner Javed Miandad.
