RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) has said it will aggressively pursue and punish violators of a ban on wall-chalking in the Cantt area. According to a board official, under a special campaign RCB has begun removing wall-chalking, banners and posters from the streets and main roads of the garrison city. Following directives of Station Commander Brig Zahid Ahmed Rana and the RCB CEO, the administration is removing materials from Saddar, Peshawar Road, Tench Bhatta, Naseerabad and other areas. The CEO urged residents to cooperate with RCB staff to make the Cantt neat and clean. The practice of wall-chalking should be avoided as it gives an ugly look to the roads and streets, he said, and warned that cases would be registered against violators of the ban. Meanwhile, the CEO also issued directives to carry out special raids to remove encroachments from different areas of the cantonment.
