BAHAWALPUR: Police arrested a man from Jamaldinwali on Tuesday after a woman accused him of kidnapping and holding her in captivity for 11 days. Saira*, a resident of Muridke, told police that she was abducted by Nadir Shah. “She said that Nadir Shah brought her to Jamaldinwali from Muridke and imprisoned her in an under-construction house. She said that Nadir Shah and his accomplice Saboo Ram repeatedly raped her during her captivity. On Tuesday, she escaped from the house and alerted neighbours. The neighbours later detained Saboo and informed police about this. However, Shah escaped,” police said. Police said that they had seized a number of items used in black magic and pictures of other girls from the house. “Saira has told us that Nadir Shah had intended to sell her to someone for Rs250,000. She said that the two had apparently kidnapped and sold a number of girls,” police said. Police said they had taken Saboo Ram into custody and are investigating.
