Collateral: Man sells daughter to pay off loan
Karim Dad, was a professional gambler who had sold her in compensation for a loan of Rs100,000.

A man sold his daughter to pay off a loan in the outskirts of Shikarpur on Tuesday. Stuart Gunj police station women's wing head Shagufta Rajput said that a 20-year-old girl, her mother and her three siblings reached the police station and claimed that the father, Karim Dad, was a professional gambler who had sold her in compensation for a loan of Rs100,000. Rajput added that the police immediately took custody of them and initiated an investigation. According to sources, Dad offered his daughter in marriage to Iqbal Shar, the owner of a gambling den in Khir-bisher village, when he was unable to repay his loan. The family had earlier visited the area's elders but they had supported Dad's decision.
