The kidnappers had been in touch with the child's parents and had asked for Rs10 million in ransom.
Speaking to Express News, the child's mother had said she had been saving money for her son's education and was not able to meet the demands of the kidnappers.
The child was first strangled and then drowned and left to be found by the police.

I hope they are apprehended and brought to justice. The mother must be devastated. The poor child experienced a violent end to his innocence and life at an age when he enjoyed cartoons and chips.
