Sialkot sector: BSF shelling in border villages creates panic

Unprovoked shelling violates ceasefire accord

Villagers hunkered for safety as blasts of mortars fired by Indian Border Security Force created panic among the people living close to the border at Sialkot Working Boundary in the early hours of Sunday.


The BSF resorted to unprovoked shelling on the border villages in Charwah Sector of Sialkot Working Boundary. However, no loss of life or injury was reported, Chenab Rangers officials confirmed.


According to senior officials of the Chenab Rangers, the BSF again violated ceasefire accord and started heavy mortar shelling on the border villages of Sialkot at 02:20 am on Sunday which continued till 3:50 am. Several mortars fired by the BSF landed in fields and could not explode. The Chenab Rangers retaliated in a befitting manner, silencing the Indian guns.
